CP Singh has worked as the Minister of Urban Development, Transport, Parliamentary Affairs, Registration, Housing, Disaster Management and Civil Aviation in the Government of Jharkhand. He was also the speaker of Jharkhand Assembly from 2010 to 2013. He has been elected MLA from Ranchi seat for 6 consecutive times and this is the record of longest victory within BJP.
Elections between political alliances

On behalf of NDA, BJP has fielded CP Singh, while on behalf of India Alliance, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has fielded Mahua Maji. There was an electoral clash between the two again in the 2019 assembly elections. This time the contest was thorny because compared to the previous victory-defeat, this time the difference was reduced by about 50 thousand votes. CP Singh could win the election by only 5,904 votes.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had won the Hatia assembly seat of Ranchi district in the 2019 elections. If BJP has fielded Naveen Jaiswal in the 2024 elections, Ajay Nath Sahdev will present the challenge from Congress.

But in November 2014, before the assembly elections, he joined Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik). However, he did not stay in the party for long and in February 2015, he was one of the six MLAs who joined BJP after rebelling.

In the 2019 elections, Naveen Jaiswal had won the Hatia seat on BJP ticket. Naveen won the election by a margin of 16,264 votes. Naveen got 115,431 votes while Ajay Nath Sahdev of Congress got 99,167 votes. 22 candidates had tried their luck in the election fray on this seat. Subhash Munda of CPI-M was at third position.
Three new parties and 3 victories in Naveen’s name
Till the year 2000, Jharkhand was a part of undivided Bihar. Then in the elections held here, Gopal Sharan Nath Sahdev of Congress had won. He also won the 2009 elections. However, in 2012, by-elections had to be held here in which Naveen Jaiswal won the election on the ticket of All Jharkhand Students Union.
Before the Hatia Vidhan Sabha Election Live Result in 2014, Naveen Jaiswal again changed the party and joined Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik). He was again elected MLA on the ticket of the new party.
But he did not stay there for long. In the beginning of 2015, he again changed the party and joined BJP. He became MLA for the third time in the 2019 elections on BJP ticket. Then he defeated Ajay Nath Sahdev.
