Punjab Panchayat Election 2024: Polling for 13237 gram panchayats will be held on October 15 in Punjab state. Nominations will begin on September 27. Polling will be held for 13,237 posts of Sarpanch and 83,437 posts of Panch of the total 1,33,97, 922 registered voters, 70,51,722 are men and 63,46,008 women. A total of 19,110 polling stations will be set up.
The Punjab State Election Commissioner, Mr. Chaudhary, announced that the nomination fee for Sarpanch and Panch is set at Rs. 100. However, there will be a 50 percent relaxation in the nomination fee for SC/ST candidates.

Kamal Chaudhary has announced that the Punjab Panchayat Election 2024 will not feature party symbols. A specialized system has been put in place for this purpose, with specific symbols designated for Sarpanches and Panches.

Punjab Panchayat Election 2024 is set to employ traditional ballot papers for the voting process.

In Punjab, the gram panchayat elections will also be conducted using ballot papers.

The ballot paper will also have NOTA (None Of The Above) symbol. This was done during the 2018 elections. This will continue this time too. As many as 13,238 Sarpanchs and 83,437 Panchs will be elected in the elections.
There will be 50 per cent reservation for women in Sarpanch and Panch elections. Responding to a question on holding elections through ballot papers, the commissioner said, “EVMs could not be found at such a large scale.  A total of 1,33,97, 932 voters will exercise their franchise.
