Uttarakhand Kedarnath Bye Election 2024 – Preparations for the by-election to be held on Kedarnath assembly seat have been completed. Polling parties were dispatched on Tuesday (19 November) for the voting to be held on Wednesday (20 November).
Strict security arrangements have been made to maintain peace during voting.
More than 1200 security personnel deployed on duty
Rudraprayag SP Akshay Prahlad Konde said that more than 1200 police men have been deployed to conduct the by-election peacefully. Apart from this, Home Guards and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel are also engaged in security arrangements.
The SP said that security is tight in the entire area and all possible steps have been taken to conduct the voting process smoothly.
Arrangement of postal ballot for government employees
Giving information on this occasion, District Election Officer Saurabh Gahwar said that 07- Postal ballot facility has been made available for the personnel posted in Kedarnath Legislative Assembly.

He said that as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission, booths for the senior person, youth and unique including disabled booths have been prepared in the Legislative Assembly in which the voters of the concerned area or village were appealed to vote compulsorily in the elections to be held tomorrow.
Is. He told that there are a total of 173 polling booths for 07-Kedarnath Bye Election 2024 in which 07 polling parties were sent to their destination last Monday. Along with this, polling parties have been sent to all the polling booths today.
He said that election related orders and materials were made available to the polling parties from 7 am today and after testing, all the polling parties have left for their destination as per the route plan. The process of departure of remaining polling parties is in progress.
Told that for security reasons, police force is deployed with the polling parties. Besides, local forest rangers have also been deployed in the places where there are forest areas. Special care has also been taken to ensure that the polling parties do not face any problem at the time of return.
Chief Development Officer Dr. GS Khati said that this time there are 90 thousand, 875 voters in 07-Kedarnath vidhan sabha seat.

Which includes 44 thousand, 919 male and 45 thousand, 956 female voters. He informed that today 166 polling parties have been sent to their destination. Told that 07-Kedarnath Legislative Assembly has been divided into 02 zonal and 27 sectors.
For security reasons, regional forest officers have been sent to the forest areas and CPF teams have been sent to sensitive booths. Besides, arrangements for webcasting have been made at 130 polling booths. Apart from this, Revenue Sub Inspector, Village Development Officer, BLO of the concerned area have also been deployed. So that voters do not face any problem in commuting and other election related arrangements.
Along with this, in the past too, a meeting has been held with all the concerned sector officers regarding necessary and basic facilities in the polling booths and instructions have been given to them to keep all the arrangements remote. He said that all the sector and zonal sector officers have left for their respective booths for the voting to be held tomorrow.
Uttarakhand Kedarnath Bye Election 2024 – Special arrangements at sensitive and ultra-sensitive polling stations
Plans have been made at many levels to ensure security at polling stations. Special attention is being given to sensitive and ultra-sensitive polling stations.
Additional police forces have been deployed at these centres. At the same time, CCTV and other surveillance equipment are also being used to ensure peaceful voting. SP Rudraprayag said that the election campaign ended peacefully.

Many polling stations of Kedarnath assembly constituency are located in inaccessible areas. Special arrangements were made to ensure timely delivery of polling parties to these areas.
With the help of helicopters and other means of transport, polling parties and EVMs were transported safely. The administration ensured that all the polling parties reached their designated centers on time.
