Delhi Vidhan Sabha Election 2025: Electoral history of Laxmi Nagar seat, who has the upper hand!

Delhi Vidhan Sabha Election 2025 : BJP, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress have started campaigning for the Delhi Assembly elections. Voting will be held on 5th February of all 70 seats and the Delhi Vidhan Sabha Election 2025 results will come on February 8. 

The electoral contest is also being seen fierce on the Laxmi Nagar seat. Aam Aadmi Party has fielded BB Tyagi. At the same time, Congress has given ticket to Sumit Sharma.

BJP has not yet announced the candidate name. It is believed that BJP can once again rely on Abhay Verma. Verma is currently a sitting MLA from here.

Electoral History of Laxmi Nagar Vidhan Sabha

In the 2020 Delhi Vidhan Sabha election, Abhay Verma from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victory in this constituency, receiving a total of 65,735 votes. Nitin Tyagi from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) followed closely behind, finishing second with 64,855 votes.

Hari Dutt Sharma of Congress got only 4,872 votes. At the same time, in the year 2015, Nitin Tyagi of Aam Aadmi Party won from Laxmi Nagar constituency. He defeated BJP candidate BB Tyagi by a narrow margin of 5,000 votes. BB Tyagi is contesting on Aam Aadmi Party ticket this time.

Also, in the 2013 vidhan sabha elections, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Binod Kumar Binny won from Laxmi Nagar seat. In 2008, Congress candidate Ashok Kumar Walia won from here.

Laxmi Nagar is one of the 70 assembly constituencies of Delhi. It is a part of the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. There is a BJP MP from East Delhi. Located in the central part of East Delhi, Laxmi Nagar is one of the most densely populated areas formerly known as Trans Yamuna.

This time the election contest on Laxmi Nagar assembly seat is being seen as very interesting. While BJP wants to retain this seat, Aam Aadmi Party wants to regain this seat.
