Haryana Assembly Results 2024 : The electoral fate of several ministers of the Haryana government is also to be decided today. Among the ministers in the fray are Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, Kamal Gupta, Kanwar Pal, Mool Chand Sharma and Jai Prakash Dalal.

Today is the day of results in the election festival of Haryana. Early trends show a clear majority for the BJP. In this moment of decision, the fate of the government as well as its ministers has to be decided. As many as 10 ministers, including Naib Singh Saini, have tried their luck in the assembly elections. The battle for votes was fought, the outcome of this battle is almost known. More than half of the total 10 ministers are behind.

Aseem Goel, Kamal Gupta, Kanwar Pal, Jai Prakash Dalal, Sanjay Singh and Subhash Sudha are trailing from their respective seats. Chief Minister Naib Singh, Mool Chand Sharma, Abhay Singh Yadav and Mahipal Dhanda are leading from their respective assembly constituencies.

How many ministers got tickets?

In fact, there was a change of leadership in Haryana before the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP had replaced Manohar Lal with Naib Singh Saini, a prominent leader of the BJP from the OBC community and the then MP from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha. Saini, who took over as the state BJP president in 2023, took oath as the chief minister of Haryana on March 12, 2024. Along with him, 13 other ministers were also sworn in. Only 10 out of the total 14 ministers got tickets.

How was the equation on the seats of the ministers?

Naib Saini: Ladwa Assembly constituency is falling under Kurukshetra Lok sabha constituency. Chief Minister Nayab Saini is contesting from here. The Congress has fielded sitting MLA Mewa Singh against him. Jogi Singh Umri of the Aam Aadmi Party, Vinod Kumar Sharma of the Jannayak Janata Party and Sapna Badshami of the Indian National Lok Dal are the other candidates in the fray.

Mewa Singh of the Congress had won in Ladwa in the 2019 assembly elections. He defeated BJP’s Pawan Saini by 12637 votes. Chief Minister Nayab Saini had won the Karnal Assembly seat in a by-election held along with the Lok Sabha elections.

Dr Kamal Gupta. Hisar continues to be one of the high profile seats in the assembly elections in Haryana. Health Minister Dr Kamal Gupta is the BJP candidate from this seat. Savitri Jindal, the country’s richest woman, is contesting against him. Ram Niwas Rada is the Congress face against two-time MLA Dr Kamal Gupta. In the 2019 elections, Dr Kamal Gupta had contested on a BJP ticket. He defeated Congress candidate Ram Niwas Rada by a margin of 15,832 votes.

The influence of the Jindal family has been there on this seat. From 1991 to 2009, the Jindal family contested from here five times and won only five times. O. P. Jindal won three times while Savitri Jindal won twice. In this election, Savitri is facing two-time MLA Dr Kamal Gupta of the BJP, while Ramniwas Rada, who lost from here in 2019, is the face of the Congress. In the 2019 elections, Dr Kamal Gupta had contested on a BJP ticket. He defeated Congress candidate Ram Niwas Rada by a margin of 15,832 votes.

Aseem Goel Aseem Goel, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development and Panchayats, is seeking re-election from Ambala City. Goyal had won from here in 2019. In the last election, Goyal had defeated Independent candidate Nirmal Singh Mohra by 8952 votes. This time, the Congress has fielded Nirmal Singh against BJP’s Aseem Goel. Apart from this, there is Ketan Sharma from AAP, Nagpal from JJP-ASPA alliance and Malkit Singh from INLD-BSP.

Mool Chand Sharma: Industries and Commerce Minister Mool Chand Sharma will contest from Ballabhgarh. He had won from Ballabhgarh in the 2019 assembly elections. In the last election, Mool Chand Sharma had defeated Anand Kaushik of the Congress by 41713 votes. This time, he is up against Congress’s Parag Sharma and AAP’s Ravinder Faujdar.

Kanwarpal: Agriculture Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar is seeking re-election from the Jagadhri City seat. He had won the Jagadhri seat in 2019. In the last election, Kanwarpal defeated Akram Khan of the Congress by 16373 votes. Kanwarpal is contesting against Congress candidate Akram Khan. AAP’s Ashok Kumar and BSP’s Darshan Lal are also in the fray.

Jai Prakash Dalal: Finance Minister Jai Prakash Dalal is seeking re-election from Loharu in Bhiwani district. In the 2019 assembly elections, JP had defeated Congress’s Somveer Singh by 17677 votes. This time, he is contesting against BJP’s Raghubar Das. AAP’s Geeta Bala, JJP’s Alka Arya and INLD’s Bhup Singh Sheoran are the other candidates.

Abhay Singh Yadav. Minister Abhay Singh Yadav is contesting from Nangal Chaudhary seat. He was Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Water Resources. In the last election, Abhay Singh defeated JJP’s Mula Ram by 20615 votes. BJP’s Abhay Singh is contesting against Congress’ Manju Chaudhary. Apart from this, Dr Gopichand from AAP and Rao Om Prakash from JJP were the candidates.
