The political temperatures in the State of Uttarakhand have risen already. From the beginning of the year 2016 the political battles have been tense between the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Indian National Congress (INC). The Bhartitya Janta Party has been accusing the ruling Party’s Chief Minister Harish Rawat of corruption while the ruling party i.e. the Indian National Congress (INC) will use the lifting of the President’s Rule (which was imposed by the Central Government ruled by the Bahrtiya Janta Party (BJP) by the Supreme Court and will talk to the public about the work that the government has done to strike back at the opposition and to be successful in the upcoming 2017 State Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Election .

Uttarakhand is a small state with just 70 State Assembly constituencies. In the last Lok Sabha elections all the five Lok Sabha seats were won by the Bhartiya Janta Party therefore the party also has a great chance to succeed in the State Assembly Elections also. The political parties are working out strategies to win vidhan sabha elections and are working to form coalitions. The Samajwadi Party (SP) is forming alliance with the Indian National Congress (INC) after one of its prominent leaders Abdul Matin Siddiqui, who was also the General Secretary, joined the Indian National Congress (INC) along with his hundreds of supporters. This certainly changed the political equation for the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the state. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in the State Elections has decided to not to form any alliance with any party. This was made very clear by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Chief Kumari Mayawati in the political rally held in Lucknow.
The nine rebel MLAs of the Indian National Congress (INC) has joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and it is expected that they will get the ticket from the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to fight in the elections from their respective seats that they won in the last elections.
