Rajasthan Punjab Rajya Sabha (RS) Election Live Counting Result –Election to the Council of Punjab State Counting Live Result 2016 will be declared on 10th/11th June 2016
Punjab and Rajasthan are among those states where the Rajya Sabha election session will be held in the year 2016. As per the notifications released by the Election Commission of India (ECI), the poll for the Upper Houses of Rajasthan and Punjab will be conducted on the 11th of June this year. The ECI has informed the people to prepare themselves for the polling and session. It has also issued the schedule along with several relevant guidelines for the political leaders. The voting will be conducted from morning 9 am to evening 4 pm.
With the announcement of the schedule of the election session, the political parties began enlisting their candidates who later filed their nominations. These nominations were scrutinized and the list of withdrawal of nominations was released.
The state of Punjab will have two seats vacant by the 4th of July 2016. These two seats belong to Indian National Congress (INC) and Shirumani Akali Dal (SAD) each. Balwinder Singh represents the SAD in the Punjab Rajya Sabha while Ambika Soni represents Indian National Congress (INC). It is said by the experts that the same composition of seats is likely to continue in the coming election session. Four Congress leaders including eminent leaders Kapil Sibal, Manish Tiwari and Ambika Soni are the forerunners for the two vacant seats.
There are 4 seats in the state of Rajasthan as well which will undergo the election session this year due to vacancies. The two of the seats will be falling vacant on the 4th of July 2016. Both the seats belong to INC party. Anand Sharma resigned from the Rajya Sabha seat on the 7th of March 2016 consequently leading to the vacancy of seat till date. The other seat was held by Ashk Ali Tak who also represented the INC party on this seat of the Rajya Sabha of Rajasthan. The other two seats are held by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). These seats of Rajya Sabha belong to Ram Jethmalani and Vijeyandra Pal Singh. These two seats will also be falling vacant on the 4th of July 2016. To win a seat in the Rajya Sabha of Rajasthan a minimum of 41 votes are necessitated. BJP is expected to win all the four seats of the Rajasthan Rajya Sabha with Union Minister’s name Venkaiah Naidu at the top. Therefore, the 4 seats of Rajya Sabha of Rajasthan will be bagged by BJP in 2016.
