The state of West Bengal had gone through a tough time in the last few months because of the six phases of the legislative Assembly election 2016. The Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have sealed the fate of the political parties, political leaders and the state. The West Bengal Vidhan Sabha (Assembly) Election Result will be declared on the 19th of May 2016 when the future government will come into power.

The last two months have been extremely hectic for the West Bengal and its people. The Election Commission of the state of West Bengal had also been having a tough time in order to conduct smooth, fir and peaceful polling session. The 6 phase marathon of the 2016 polling session ended and the celeb political leaders were seen relaxing and enjoying their time. Every political leader expresses their confidence of winning the assembly poll.

The major political parties in fray in the state of West Bengal are Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) , Indian National Congress (INC) party and Communist Party of India – Maxists (CPI-M). Each of the political parties has fielded their best candidates. These candidates have full blown their efforts to bring victory for their political party.

The West Bengal Assembly Election session in the state was divided into six phases for convenience and effective management. The assembly election authorities proclaimed to get more and more voters to the polling stations and it succeeded up to an adequate extent. The voters though had to face certain difficulties and violent situations in which one of the CPI (M) members also lost life. The 2016  WB vidhan sabha election session witnessed a satisfactory female voters’ turnout as well.

This year, the election session covered 294 constituencies in the six phases. This resulted into an increase in the number of polling stations. The first phase was subdivided into two parts. The part one of phase 1 covered those 13 constituencies which were marked as the Left Wing Extremism (LWE) pretentious areas. This recorded a turnout of 80 per cent voters.

The second part of phase 1 covered 31 constituencies, where a few incidents of clashes were seen yet in the scorching heat a turnout of 79.56% was registered. The second phase of the poll covered North Bengal, another critical region where the Gorkhaland movement was a crucial challenge for the ruling party, TMC. The voters turnover in this phase was also reasonable as it touched the 79.70% mark.

The 3rd phase of the poll covered 62 constituencies of the state and recorded 79.22 per cent voters’ turnout. The 4th phase registered a turnout of 78%. This phase covered 49 constituencies. The next phase i.e. 5th one recorded the turnout of 78.25% where three major districts including Kolkata. The last final phase (6th) reached the mark of 84.24% voters’ turnout which was evidently impressive.  With the last phase, the session for the West Bengal Vidhan Sabha Election came to its end.
